Africa PPP returns to Morocco this October
Africa’s premier public-private partnership (PPP) industry event returns to Morocco this October for the 14th Africa PPP Summit. Scheduled from October 22-24, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Casablanca, this summit coincides with Morocco’s preparations to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which includes several multibillion-dollar infrastructure projects.
Organized by AMETrade Ltd, Africa PPP is the continent’s longest-running annual event focused on infrastructure investment and development. It emphasizes the effective use of PPPs and private sector investments to finance, construct, operate, and maintain essential infrastructure. Africa faces a significant infrastructure development deficit, with an annual financing gap exceeding USD 100 billion.
Africa PPP offers solutions by bringing together key public and private sector stakeholders from Africa and beyond, facilitating meaningful business connections among industry leaders and decision-makers. The summit aims to develop innovative infrastructure financing and partnership models in critical sectors such as energy, transport, and water.
This year’s theme, “Scaling up PPPs to Address Infrastructure Investment Gaps,” highlights the vital role of PPPs and private sector involvement in bridging Africa’s substantial infrastructure financing gap. The 14th edition will focus on accelerating infrastructure development by showcasing viable African PPP and mega infrastructure projects, fostering connections between project owners, developers, investors, and contractors to close the funding gap and address Africa’s infrastructure challenges.
Africa PPP 2024 will feature project presentations in renewable energy, water, transport, energy transmission, and digital technology sectors, including large cross-border projects. This provides infrastructure investors and financiers with comprehensive insights into billions of dollars worth of attractive African infrastructure investment opportunities.
The 14th Africa PPP Summit is more than an event; it’s a catalyst for change in Africa’s development landscape. With its history of success and dedication to excellence, the summit is empowering the continent, reshaping the future of PPPs, and attracting investment for sustainable, climate-resilient infrastructure expansion.
